Terms of Use

Last updated 26 August 2026.

By creating a Cardemy account or using this site, you agree to these terms. The current beta is free; paid plans are not active unless the checkout page clearly says otherwise.

Who you are contracting with. Cardemy is an independent project, run by the person who operates this service, reachable at hello@cardemy.ie. The operator's full registration details will be listed here once they are settled. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under Irish and EU law, whatever those details turn out to be.

What Cardemy is

Cardemy is an independent study app for the Irish Category B Driver Theory Test. It is not the official test. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Road Safety Authority (RSA), the Driver Theory Test Service, or the National Driver Licence Service. The official test is booked at dtt.ie.

Study material, not legal or driving advice

Our questions and explanations are written from the RSA's Rules of the Road, and each question cites the page it came from. We work to keep them accurate, but road traffic law changes and the official publication is always the authority. Passing a Cardemy practice test is not a prediction that you will pass the real test.

Always follow the law and the instructions of a Garda or a road sign over anything you read in this app.

Beta and future payments

Cardemy is currently offered as a free beta. Features, content and availability may change as we learn from users. If paid plans are introduced, the price, access period, renewal terms and refund rules will be shown before payment and processed through Stripe. No payment is taken by Cardemy during the free beta.

Content and ownership

The Cardemy name, its design and its explanatory text belong to us. The Rules of the Road and the official road sign designs are the property of their respective owners and are referenced here for educational purposes. Your account remains yours and you can request deletion of your learning data.

Availability

Cardemy is provided as-is and as-available. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features. Where we are about to remove something you depend on, we will give notice in the app.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for failing a test, or for any decision you make on the road. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.

Changes

We will update the date at the top of this page when these terms change, and tell you in the app if the change materially affects you.
